Juandre Rautenbach became part of the DIVERGENT OPS team in 2022, bringing with him over 20 years of extensive experience in the security industry. 1. What made you choose a career in Emergency Medical Services?
After my military service I was working temporary at the local ambulance services killing time waiting for my training to start as a Forester and after my first accident I attended I decided to study emergency medicine.

2. What’s the most memorable moment you’ve had while on the job?
I operated as a secondary crew part-time on an air ambulance for 8 years.

3. What’s a skill everyone should learn for personal safety?
Airway management, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and management and control of bleeding.

1. What made you choose a career in security?
When I left school, the National mandatory service period was two years. My plan was to join the SADF on a permanent basis. It ended up that I became an Infantry Instructor. After SADF, I trained security personnel at Denel national key point training. I was always teaching others how to protect assets, themselves, and others. It changed my outlook on life and still does.

2. What is the most memorable moment in your career in security?
My most memorable moment on the job was the shootout and arresting of the four armed robbery suspects.

3. What is one skill that everyone should learn for safety?
The skill to learn is always to keep in mind that your own safety comes first and always follow the laid down rules that you have to do
